David Greig was born in Victoria BC and educated there, in the BC Interior,
and Vancouver. After a career in music (which was cut short due to a
strikingly apparent absence of talent), Mr. Greig married, and then attended
and graduated from The University of Victoria in 1983 (English) and 1986
(law). During his studies he produced more children than research papers,
but he managed to graduate in the top 10% of his class, with several
bursaries and awards. After completing articles, he practiced for 7 years
with a local firm, doing insurance cases, family law, criminal court work,
and just about everything else. He then formed the original partnership,
which has since become Greig, Wilson & Rasmussen LLP, where he has worked as a
litigator and partner since.
David practices predominantly in the field of family law, but his love of
litigation also sees him engaged in personal injury cases, and inheritance
(trust) suits. David is active in the Canadian Bar Association, and has
been twice elected to Provincial Council. In addition, he's served the Law
Society's PLTC program as a guest instructor, as a lecturer at Continuing
Legal Education Seminars, and has been on radio and in print (in several
newspapers) and has authored a nationally successful "Separation Agreement"
book, published by Self Counsel Press (now in it's 14th edition). He's also
been active in the International Bar Assocation, ATLA, and several other
groups.
He is the father of four children and a grandfather of two. His interests
include guitar, travel, hockey, fly-fishing, and other stuff. David always
carries a large case load, prides himself on devoted attention to his
clients, but is focussed and "always has an eye on settling". He can be
